Help foarm input output functions

hi i have an idea of taking a foarm and like making a simple calculator with javascript and im wondering if i have to send the input to one of thoughes programs that retrives the data or could i just do this in the coding of the webpage?
THE ONLY WAY TO MOVE IN THE FUTURE IS TO ABSTRACT IN THE PAST
(My interpretation of abstract, is, to change something little by little until it morphs into something new)

o ya im just going to do this on my computer not over the web
