About:Blank HijackThis from JaqJaq
![]() |
Try the instructions in this thread:
http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/thread7507.html
It basically involves ripping out a DLL from the running explorer.exe and iexplore.exe processes, and then removing those files using HJT. It's worked for me, and the solution has worked through several reboots so far.

No luck.
I did everything suggested on the other thread. HJT showed a clean log.
But I did not even have to shut down and reboot. As soon as I clicked on IE, it returned. The home page is "Home Search", but looks alot like About:Blank. The actual web page is "res://bcgzs.dll/index.html#26643"
It also creats a pop up called "only the best" with a different topic depending on the web page. When on daniweb, the pop up wants to sell me adware remover. When on business page, a business related junk, et set.
Please help.

I did as you asked. A few problems:
Step 6
Could not find O2 - BHO: (no name) - {47F1A18E-4D68-80F1-6BBB-16B984AC80ED} - C:\WINDOWS\winut32.dll.
However, I deleted the outof place dll file I found.
Step 7
could not find:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\bcgzs.dll< file
C:\WINDOWS\winut32.dll< file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\sdker.exe< file
C:\WINDOWS\mfceb.exe< file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ieid32.exe< file
I did find and delete:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\sdker.ex$
Step 10
Could not delete or rename: LEGACY___NS_Service_3
The system provided "cannot delete LEGACY___NS_Service_3:error while deleting key.
Step 12:
could not logon to merijn.
But the good news is that the hijaker is not workinga anymore. However, the pop up closer still closes a pop up named "about:blank". So the system is still infected.
Here is my most recent log after I opened Internet Explorer.

Step 6
Could not find O2 - BHO: (no name) - {47F1A18E-4D68-80F1-6BBB-16B984AC80ED} - C:\WINDOWS\winut32.dll.
However, I deleted the outof place dll file I found.
Step 7
could not find:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\bcgzs.dll< file
C:\WINDOWS\winut32.dll< file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\sdker.exe< file
C:\WINDOWS\mfceb.exe< file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ieid32.exe< file
I did find and delete:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\sdker.ex$
Step 10
Could not delete or rename: LEGACY___NS_Service_3
The system provided "cannot delete LEGACY___NS_Service_3:error while deleting key.
Step 12:
could not logon to merijn.
But the good news is that the hijaker is not workinga anymore. However, the pop up closer still closes a pop up named "about:blank". So the system is still infected.
Here is my most recent log after I opened Internet Explorer.
