Hello everybody, I need a code shows who is online...Explain??,OK:
I wrote a chat program & I need to know who is logged on... Example: In this web-site you can see If I am logged on because If I'm logged on the picture beside me will be green... how to do that?

Why not simply put a flag in the database when they login?

I'm just an amateur, but I think stymiee's suggestion sounds like a good idea. You might have to set some time limit to time them out if you don't detect any activity...

(For a school project a friend and I once wrote an IM program that only told the contact list when the user signed on. It never told the contact list when the user signed off... That's all the prof wanted...)
