Okay guys, I want to install a new hard drive in my computer. I mentioned this in another thread where I fluffed up and had to reset the Bios... :o
Here is the situation, I have a Dell 8300 that came with an original Western Digital 60gb and I want to install another Western Digital 120gb. The catch is that I want to run my new hard drive as the master and keep my original one as the slave, but have the image of my original hard drive on the new hard drive. The reason I'm doing this, is because my original hard drive was having performance problems and I wanted to format it, but the only imaging I know is TCP/IP networked, not a simple drive to drive.
My questions are:
1. If I were to take the 60gb image and put it on my 120gb, would the computer read the 120gb as a 60gb hard drive?
2. What software can I use to do this?
3. Is there an easier and/or better solution?
Thanks in advanced

Your making this really hard on yourself.
First you can put the image on the 120GB but, it need to be set as the master. The 60GB set it as a slave. Another thing reformat your 60GB completely.
The software I like the best is Drive Image. People say NORTON GHOST I hate that product.
Reformat start fresh let us know how it goes.

"0xC0000185, or STATUS_IO_DEVICE_ERROR, indicates improper termination, defective storage controller hardware, defective disk cabling, or two devices attempting to use the same system resources."
