I am a beginner please give me some advice

actually it does work

assume a = 3 and b = 7

a = a + b

a = 10
b = 7

b = a - b
a = 10
b = 3

a = a - b
a = 7
b = 3

however from the responses this doesnt seem to be a very safe way of handling things.
