Okay.... well, apart from the silly script effects - it's pretty valid.
If you could find an Actual script to hadle the Marquees, you could make them external.... this meas that not only would you have perfectly valid code, it won't get ugly when you have JS Disabled. (In MFF 2 Win, the bottom scroller turns into big block!).
You could make all that JS code External - it is really easy to do... and it means it would bedownloaded jsut once and cached onthe visitors PC... makign it faster to load later as they don't need to download it again!
Try to avouid fixed text-sizes... in IE it means you cannot increase/decrease the text-size, use EM or % instead of PX.
You used one of the ohh so typical "build a website in minutes" tools as well... not good.
Your site is built with taables and tons of JS that could either be made as External Files, or replaced with clever CSS (such as :Hover over Links instead of using JS for Rollovers).
Why use an Abbrv. for Services in the Link Title? The idea is to be informative
Simply put upto 70 Cahracters in the Link Title, providing a bit of detail - some users are taht stupid! It also helps those who cannot "see" the screen.
Iamges for Links is Okay, so long as you have the Link Titles...but you could get thesame results using CSS... which would mean you could remove the JS with it... probably an equal trade off in size.... but more likely to be compatible for more users.
You need better Security!
Simply turning of JS means that I can get to the Quotes Wanted / Squad Wanted page and see the details!
Additionally, a Modal Popup for Security isn't exactly the best approach...
No "focus" for Keyboard or alternative interface users.... they have no idea what they are tabbing to unless they view the Status bar!
So use Hover/Focus and Active states for Links!
Taht should do you for now

The first two thoughts to spring to mind were these
a. Why would I use this site as opposed to just the Yellow Pages?
b. I wish you luck and I hope it works but I would suggest that at least for starters you offer free listings. If I am not mistaken you are offering paid listings only. Granted the payment is a modest one but if I were an Irish plumber - which I am not - I would go elsewhere to spend my ten euros.
I could be wrong of course - have been to Dublin and enjoyed the Guiness but apart from that I have no idea what the Irish market is like.

Hi,
1. You might want to provide a link for the text below that will lead the visitor to where they can get some free business cards:
"While you are here why not get some FREE business cards"
2. Need to optimize your site for search engines (enter page titles for every page, create better more specific keywords according to what someone may type into a search engine like "contract a cleaning service or freelance plumbers etc...
Google has a keyword analyzer for webmasters, you may want to get analytics account with them to help with your SEO
3. When I clicked on the quotes wanted link I was prompted for a password by the server. Not sure why.
4. You may want to let the first 30 or so people receive free listings in order to build your database.
Hope this helps.
Christa
