Help Volume stuck in management state HELP!!!!!

  #1
Oct 22nd, 2007
I am in need of big time help. I'm a teacher you happens to also manage the the school servers running Novell 6.5 sp6 and my Promise drive array lost a couple of drives. After replacing the drives the Array rebuilt itself and is now functional. The IT department at the school district I work for had me run nss/poolrebuild on the volume since the volume was not able to be mounted. Now the pool rebuild stops at .9226...% and stops. The time count and file count is not working. It seems to just hang. It was like this all weekend. I had the IT person look at it and he restarted it thinking it froze. Well now the volume is stuck in maintenance state. I am unable to change it to either active or deactive state. (including a force activate or deactivate command) All of the other teachers grades, files etc on on this volume and the frist quarter ends Nov. 2nd. Unfortunately, the district is unwilling to buy any backup equipment for the sites, we have to to that ourselves and like most schools we just don't have the money to do so. So unfortunately relying on backups is out. PLEASE any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mark
