Hi,
My name is Jon, I live in England working as an Analyst Programmer for a large retail company. I've not been doing the job for long and as a result am building my experience up but I am struggling with my SQL at the moment - the standard required in the real world is so much higher than that in University and for personal work at home!!

I both live and work near Manchester.
cool, me and two other guys are from greater london area, and theres a few from france etc..
theres about 20 or so regulars then the light posters

I've looked for a while for a forum which covers various development aspects and this at first glance looks to be the best so far.
yeah, it has both a good on-topic and off-topic community, i try and do a little of both myself and can usually be found in the "troubleshooting dead machines" forum
