someone please HELP!!!! me spyware trouble
![]() |
Long story short I was surfing the web and this thing told me to vote three times before I could enter the site, and by the third "vote" my computer froze and the spyware troubles began.
Okay so I've run ewido under safe moed, Spybot under safe mode, and ad-aware under safe mode. I also checked my files and folders for weird .exe and .dll files that were created by the time I did the third vote and deleted some except for two that I couldn't manage to delete
pmkjh.dll
khfgfd.dll
I also opened up my task manager and I see A LOT of "services.exe". Why are there like 12 of them? Shouldn't there only be one? Also there's an hourglass next to my mouse no matter what and my computer is making weird noises like its running something slowly.
This is my HJT logfile

Wasn't Ewido bought up by AVG? Just wondering.
I can't read your hijack this log, but I have a few tips.
Download Asquared free: http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/download/ update it, and run a full scan. I like this program better than Adaware or AVG antispyware- I feel it is more thorough.
Run a series of free online scans. (Perhaps in "Safe Mode with networking?") Here's a list of the ones I'm aware of:
Kaspersky Free Virus Scan http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
Trend Micro HouseCall http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
Microsoft Live OneCare Safety Scanner http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm
BitDefender Free Online Scanner http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html
McAfee FreeScan http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp?affid=294
Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool http://www.microsoft.com/security/ma...e/default.mspx
Symantec Security Check http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/d...d=ie&venid=sym
Panda ActiveScan http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeuse...ns/activescan/
I belive most of these will remove what they detect, but I don't think all of them do.
You can also run Prevex's free scan http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp It doesn't remove what it finds, but many techies swear by its detection, so it would be worth a shot.
Another thing you can do (a better option, I believe) is to create a windows Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD) www.ubcd4win.com . All you need is a copy of windows XP service pack 2 and you can create it. Before creating it, though, open the program, click "plugins", find all the entries labeled "Antivirus" and "Antispyware", highlight each individual one, and click "config" to update the definitions. Create the disk, boot off of it, and run the scans- this ensures that the malware in question does not interfere with the scanning or installation of the program, and that none of them are running in the background.
Hope this makes sense for you!
Good luck, post back with questions!

Oh, and its probably not a good idea to go around deleting "suspicious" .dll files and the like, because some of them could be vital to certain, legitimate programs!
Also, you may want to read some of the "thumbtacked" threads in this forum, as they include advice about avoiding and preventing infections. I recommend using good antivirus and antispyware programs, Comodo BOclean and Spywareblaster to prevent infections, and running a few online scans now and again for good measure- all of this, naturally, when you clean your current problem.
Alll the best,

Try posting it in the Hijack This forum for a faster response maybe? You should still probably run a few of the scans, at least, that I recommended.
Good luck,

Can you please do the following.
===============
Download the newest version of HiJackThis; version 2.0.2. Place it in a permanent folder before scanning. Repost your log after following the steps below. This version has features that might be more helpful in 'cleaning' up your system.
===============
Scan with HijackThis and then place a check next to all the following, if present:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...rio&pf=desktop
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...rio&pf=desktop
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...rio&pf=desktop
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...rio&pf=desktop
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...rio&pf=desktop
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...rio&pf=desktop
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...rio&pf=desktop
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...rio&pf=desktop
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...rio&pf=desktop
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...rio&pf=desktop
Now, close all instances of Internet Explorer and any other windows you have open except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".
===============
Please download ComboFix by sUBs from HERE or HERE
- You must download it to and run it from your Desktop
- Physically disconnect from the internet.
- Now STOP all your monitoring programs (Antivirus/Antispyware, Guards and Shields) as they could easily interfere with ComboFix.
- Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
- When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log to post in your next reply along with a fresh HJT log
- Re-enable all the programs that were disabled during the running of ComboFix..
Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.
