Can't you do that with the disc utility that comes with the program? I guess I'm not sure if that would scan for a virus, per se...I know Norton has some products.
Yes, Disk Utility only checks disks for corruption, data problems, or physical problems with the disk. I'd recommend testing out the free ClamXav first, if it's unable to remove the virus, you may want to get higher-quality software, such as VirusBarrier by Intego.
