Is there anything special you need to do with these once you have located the files?

Thanks for your reply. I need to let anyone view the worksheets with no way to change them and another group to be able to modify them. I don't know whether , or how, to do this with code or on the spreadsheet itself. Again, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me.
Regards, Jim

Just to clarify, do you want to open excel through your application or just display the data on a form?

Thanks for your response. I think That just opening Excel through the application will handle what I need to do. Again thanks for your help.

Sorry about the delay, but here is a link to a page with some good code.

http://xldennis.wordpress.com/2007/1...net-solutions/

It gives three different options, so one of them should work for you. I used none of them cos i just used a datagridview & dataset - but its simialr to the spreadsheet component option given.

Hope this helps.
