Hello,
I’m a student of Cal Poly Pomona building a UAV for a senior project. At the moment I’ve been doing research into the systems my team needs and how I’m to integrate them together. I would like to use a PDA, Palm Pilot, or Pocket PC that can be connected to a GPS receiver and a serial port (USB converted to serial or parallel port ok). I understand that converters may be required, but everything must run off battery power and be reasonably lightweight. The operating system of the PDA, Palm Pilot, or Pocket PC needs to be able to run a Java or C++ compiled program that can both access data from the GPS receiver and control the serial port (Input and Output of port). I can program a bit but will need to know the proper libraries to access these components.
Please if anyone can give me any information that may help please reply or email me at smurfdew@yahoo.com.
Thank you for your time,
Ian M Donovan
