As I always say, do research first. Look at the reviews and recommendations of others.

Well... Just a few basic things to look out for on ANY company you want to go with:

1. Do they have a phone number so you can call them if they go out
2. Do they have a valid business license
3. How long have they been in business
4. What kind of responce do they get on the forums *these and http://forums.webhostingtalk.com*
5. Do they offer your site room for expanstion.
6. What is the uptime/load average/cpu usage of thier server
7. Do they have a reliable network. *more than one backbone provider*
8. How do they allocate your bandwidth *for instance if you take 90 gig and divide it over the ammount of seconds in a month, and cap it there, you would never get higher than about 200k/s which isn't good for things like busy forums/streaming media etc.*

There are other things you should also consider which are based on personal needs, however these 8 things usually will help you determine the best host.

I run my vB forum and site through them. Awesome support and they are really reliable.

I use a place called Network11. Quite good in my opinion.

There is no such thing, coz BW Costs and no one can offer like that.

I recommend you do some research on sites such as www.tophosts.com, www.findmyhost.com and www.hostsearch.com to name a few. I know that findmyhost.com tests each web host before they promote their services and I am sure most other directories do the same.

There is nothing called best in the web hosting business. You can see lots of better hosting companies. But "Best" is not one of them.
Then again "Best host is the host that perfect Clients".
