Hi all,
I installed apache 2.2 on my home computer running windows XP. I want to use the server for intranet. I can access the server from other computers on the network by typing in the ip address of the server computer into the browser address bar. I would like to modify this so that instead of numbers I can assign a web address such as www.mysite.net. And access the server in that manner from any computer connected to my network. How can I do this with out modifying the host file?
Thanks in advance.

go to http://www.dyndns.com/ sign up for either a free domain name or pay a bit for a better domain name... the site will lead you to download and configure the software to update your dynamic ip.
