Help No License Error Message when trying to open Access

  #1
Sep 14th, 2004
The computer is a Dell Optiplex GX270, running Windows XP Pro., and Office 97 Pro. I've had Office 97 running on this computer for a few months and Access was fine. I went to open it and got an error saying it couldn't be opened because there was no license for it on the computer. This is a legal copy of Office 97 that I bought myself and have been using. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office itself as a whole and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Access alone and get the same error each time. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

So after a long day of hard work and searching around. I found a fix for my problem on Microsoft's website and decided to post the link to the fix here in case anyone else has run into this problem.

Thanks for sharing!

According to that link, the problem isn't supposed to exist with WinXP, have you tried the fix yet to see if it actually works for you?
