I have two computers linked by switch and router. A " technician" has left me with some problems. The plan was for each computer to access the C drive of the other. When opening the C drive on the second computer everthing appears but attempts to open a program for example. are met with a Denied notice. The home computer accesses the Cdrive of the second OK but also does not permit the use of programs.

Are you running XP on both PC's? If so, go to My Computer and right-click on the C drive and select Sharing and Security. Make sure the "Allow network users to change my files" checkbox is selected. If not, check it and OK out of the window.
