I see, so disclude the 0-9 and numbers will be allowed along with alpha autmotically...

Not quite,

You need to specifically state which characters you want to allow in the [] so to allow alpha numeric, you need ([a-zA-Z0-9])

AJAX is not a programming language, scripting language or any other sort of language.
It is acheived by using JavaScript http functions.
So, AJAX = JavaScript.
