I foolishly updated my bios with winphlasher and it must have been the wrong bios.

I now get one long beep followed by 2 short beeps and no monitor.

It is an Acer aspire 1640z laptop and I am not sure of original bios ?

I have a usb FDD and need a lot of help !

I am really struggling now and would appreciate any help

Thanks guys

Leighton

Use another computer and download the correct bios. Flash the bios with the correct version.

One long beep followed by two short beeps
indicates a fault with the video card, hence nothing on monitor.
But I do not know how to get round that problem on an Acer laptop.
Perhaps someone else does.
