1. Elaborate on the following on DNS:
DNS is both a telephone "White Pages" and a "Yellow Pages"
The DNS namespace
The hierarchy of DNS servers and how they work as a team to resolve DNS queries.

I really only need assistance on the first part.............Can anyone tell me where to look for information concerning this? Every link I have tried has turned up a dead end.

Its both a white pages and a yellow pages in so far that it can do;

Yellow pages - names to telephone numbers
White pages (reverse directory) - telephone numbers to names

Except with a DNS server its IP addresses instead of telephone numbers

Thanks for the remarks. I sat and pondered the concept for a bit, and came to a similar conclusion.
