Hi,
I have been told that I can not copy a IDE drive to a Sata drive using any copy program. Anyone have any experience with this? I have copied many IDE to IDE and SATA to SATA but never IDE to SATA. I could just try, but I thought I would ask first. Thank you for your assistance in advance

I think you need the disk software from the manufacturer of the new Sata drive and it should be able to do the job...I don't think a simple copy will work.

there are also lots of free software suites that claim to do the job...sorry that I can't give you firsthand knowledge, I know that would ease your mind on trying it...

Hi,
I can't see how I can get into too much trouble just trying any program that claims it will work. If it will not work I have only lost time. Thank you for your reply.
