Need help with sound prob

MY SOUND WENT OFF AFTER INSTALLING NEW GRAPHIC CARD. IT WORKED WHEN I PLUGGED MY MONITER TO THE MOTHERBOAD . I HAVE CHECKED ALL DRIVERS UPDATED THEM BUT STILL PROBLEM. I am RUNNING WINDOWS XP SP2 AND HAVE XFX GEFORCE 8600 GT.I am UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM AND ITS SOLUTION.

ANY HELP WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Cards of that type sometimes have a sound device on them as well. If so, disable one or the other. Also, prob. cold be a IRQ and/or I/O conflict.
