I apologize in advance for what may seem like a product plug. We are interested in gathering feedback from this forum of sophisticated online & email marketers on our just released new calendar marketing This service is called “Calgoo In-Calendar Marketing”, it has similarities with email marketing services, but the delivery is to calendars like Outlook, Google Calendar, and Apple iCal.

The platform delivers timely and relevant marketing offers to the medium where the customer makes their scheduling decisions every day which increase action on these messages. For example, a retailer sends a notice of a weekend sale with a coupon or a travel supplier creates live calendar feeds with last minute travel deals…

We hope that you will check out our screencast, and let us know your thoughts at Calgoo Website.

Out of curiosity, what's the advantage to the people who sign up? I get why marketers/advertisers would sign up. But why would users? I mean, most people I know don't want to be marketed to.

Not trying to be a jerk, just curious.

Brian,

Thank you for the feedback. You are bang on that marketers are keen on the concept of In Calendar Marketing. As for the users - during our research we found that people are keen to get these messages. The caveat is that the information must be relevant. So the idea is not to flood a calendar with multiple ads that have no connection. Rather a company with a loyal following of clients will use In Calendar Marketing to communicate directly with their clients. Once the link between company and user calendar is set there is no worry about SPAM filters, etc. The other aspect of In Calendar Marketing is that if the company strays from the promise of sending relevant material, the user can delete the link into their calendar and the ads stop immediately.

Hopefully this helps explain the concept.

Regards,

petrakeawel
