I have so far been playing with wxpy's media control and is greater, but needs backend which is not good habit anyway. Is there any framework, that can in its own play multimedia file independent of OS's as backend??

Catch 22 here, the various operating system backends are used (auto-detected) to make the media controls work cross platform.
