it's Microsoft.net framework under config

what?

are you saying you are modifying the web config file in microsoft.net/framework/v2.0.50727/config ?

it needs to be the web config file in the directory for iis

Thats where my IIS 6.0 book told me to go. windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\config which is the default...?

I figured it out. I actually needed to configure the machine.config file because there was no web.config file configured for the application. Thanks so much for your help.
