Bypassing Content and p2p blocking

I am Studying in a college and the internet provided here has a firewall which blocks all sites like orkut, 4share, any exe downloads, p2p sharing and even limewire.
So as an engineering student i have to download books, new softwares which are blocked or available on torrent which is also blocked. Please help me out some solutions for like a bypassing proxy server one which i was using earlier named FREEGATE is now not working please help me..

Well I can give you advice on bypassing a proxy server but I cannot give you advice on downloading pirated software or anything seeing as I just got spanked by a moderator for doing so (you've got me paranoid jbennet LOL).
