Change CD Drive settings from SCSI to IDE

I appologise if this is the wrong section to post.

I have changed the DVDrom drive in my HP Compaq nx9010 laptop.
I bought a drive off ebay and have since fitted it.
The drive will not show up in "My Computer" but shows up in the device manager.

I noticed that the drive is listed as a SCSI drive and it is not. This machine is at least 5 years old and will run a IDE drive.

I was told to change it in the BIOS but have been unable to find the the setting in the BIOS to do so.

It is running PHOENIX BIOX if that helps you at all.

Thanks,

Shaun.

Is the drive SATA?

It may be listed as SCSI if it is SATA
