Boot up problem

Hi guys, 2nd problem since joining this site.

When I boot up my computer, after the Windows screen, my screen turns black and my mouse is frozen in the middle of the screen.

I tried using using Last Known Configuration that worked by using F8 but that just left a blank screen with no mouse after bootup.

Finally I tried safe mode and it worked. I use my Malware program to delete 10 Trojans however the same problem persists after bootup.

hi try to go safe mode again...

then go to run type MSCONFIG..

then at general tab..use the option diagnostic start up...

check if you can boot normally...

try to download avast scanner ... or try running malwarebytes again but make sure its updated...

your systems seems to still have problem..
the item below is suspicious...

Do other alternative first..cheap and easy ways..
Don't take out money from your pocket when you're not so sure that it will solve the problem..

hello

Sorry to hear about your problems. I would try cguan_77 tips first but if it dose not work, Go in to the Recovery with your XP disk or Recovery Partion And run the recovery through there. Or when you are in the Safe Mode Run Find the System Recovery App under the System Tools Selection in your Start Menu. Choose a date before this Problem and see if you can book after that.

I think your hdd is just fine.. from time to time the command interpriter (command.com) becomes corrupted or lost. All you need to do is boot to a win startup disk (the version that you have) and from your A: prompt type:

sys c: [enter]

That will move command.com, io.sys, and msdos.sys back to your hard drive. These 3 files are what give you MSDOS and they have to be there to have a drive be bootable.
