I'm afraid our guesses are as good as yours. The master password is set by the administrator when the machine is first installed. If you happen to have administrator access to the machine I can walk you through resetting the master password. Otherwise, things get a bit more complicated.

Passwords can be reset with the install disk, provided the account is not encrypted.
