Good afternoon,

My laptop seems to be experiencing major problems as it seems to be connected ok to the internet but I cannot get any web page to display. MSN accounts seem to be working but web pages wont display at all with the usual message "Internet explorer cannot display web page" . I've checked the connection and all seems fine. Not sure what to do next. Here is a copy of my HJT.

my laptop usually runs on our home wireless router. I've rebooted the router but am not sure how to post ipconfig.

Can you let me know please?

Have HJT fix the following entry by placing a tick next to it.

I believe Norton may well be the cause of your problem. You really should get rid of that rubbish and use some decent security software. I can advise you on what software will work properly unlike Norton.

I've deleted the registry entry as requested. However still cannot access the internet although it tells me that the connection is there. I am actually not using Norton's anymore as it has expired and i found that it always messed up the computer.

Any suggestions on what I can do now?

Start/Run/cmd
Enter ipconfig in the command window

If you no longer use it then you NEED to uninstall it.

If you can get to it, download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.

Make sure that you restart the computer.

Am just deleting all of the Norton's stuff and will run mbam on my laptop. Will post back as soon as I have a log for you.
