Please Help Virus Problem

  #1
Mar 4th, 2005
As you can tell by my postcount I am a n00b to this. I have a problem. I run a scan with Norton antivirus 2004 and it finds no infected files. I am having the problem that Internet Explorer quickly ceases up and fails to connect to any web pages. Mozilla firefox however still works. I am also getting other strange behaviour such as various apps not responding. I have downloaded Hijack this but am a bit unsure what to do as I have read that if you make a wrong move you can do damage. If anyone can help a noob out I would be very gratefull.
