| Re: urlsearchhook and others Does it freeze in Safe Mode with Networking? Or even just safe mode? If it does not then the problem probably would NOT be the hard drive. You absolutely need more RAM for sure. That is NOT expensive and is easy to add. |
| ||
| Re: urlsearchhook and others in safe mode with networking it freezes same as in normal which would be sometimes during start up, sometimes running any prog, (sometimes because the moon is full?) but will not completely boot in just safe mode... that never gets past the screen listing the multidisk and partition stuff. i think a trip to the local parts store is a go... what info do you think i should bring to get compatible ram? thanks for your help. |
| ||
| Re: urlsearchhook and others just an update... i "popped the hood" and found one of the rams werent seated on the mboard all the way... i was hoping that cured me, but no go, im still freezing. good news is a friend has ram for me (freebie) and i have room for it. friend also tells me i'm formatted as fat32 and i should be formatted ntf (or something similar). soooo, i suppose i'll be reformatting b4 too long. |

| Re: urlsearchhook and others yes, hello, ok, heres the problem, i have ran spybot s&d, found stuff and deleted it, malewarebytes isnt finding anything, but, when i run hijackthis it pops up the "urlsearchhook ( no name) with a bunch of numbers (no file), there are teo of them, they both pretty much look the same, except the second one says urlsearchhook a couple different times in the same line, like it repeat itself on the line ok, well when i delete them they go to the backups, but, there still also in the scan again, everytime i try and delete them they still pop back up on the scan, also, all the backups that i delete, when in the backups, come back in the backup folder also, they go away, but when i leave the backup and go back to it, there all right back there again, there are a couple other files i deleted that are in the backup folder that dont show up on the scan anymore but still pop up in the backups even after i delete them, bascially nothing will leave the backups, and i cant get rid of the urlsearchhook crap, i know there viruses, i have looked them up, if there not please inform me otherwise, if anyone has any advice or knows what to do please let me know, ty |

| Re: urlsearchhook and others rjmc79, You need to begin your own thread rather than posting your problems within somebody else's thread, that is called Thread Hijacking. Please begin your own thread, stating in the title the problem and then in the post give us all the symptoms. When you post the HJT log you must post the ENTIRE LOG, from top to bottom not just the partial log you have posted here. You have left off the beginning and all the running processes. A log cannot be read without all of those parts. Do that and somebody will assist you. |
