What is BRIDGE.DLL

I keep getting a post-start up message about a "BRIDGE.DLL" missing from the system file. I have no clue what it is or where it went. Any help is appreciated.

ok ,I will post back when i get answer from hijackthis log school!

Re: What is BRIDGE.DLL

you need to delete this file ,BRIDGE.DLL
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RunDLL] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\BRIDGE.DLL",Load

Also run hijack again and remve these

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [systray] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\A.EXE

Others often remove these
O16 - DPF: {41F17733-B041-4099-A042-B518BB6A408C} - http://a1540.g.akamai.net/7/1540/52...meInstaller.exe

And these activeX controls could go - if the user goes back to that site they would reinstall if required.

trying to figure out what this is --
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CFJ] C:\WINDOWS\CFJ.exe

Please search for it, then right-click the file and give me the information under it's "Properties". You may have to unhide system files and folders.

Re: What is BRIDGE.DLL

Ha, can't seem to find CFJ.exe anywhere. Also, what exactly is BRIDGE.DLL? The error message just came back, and I can safely assume it's do to something someone else did while using this computer.

Still no sign of CFJ.exe. I'm going to repeat the stuff to remove the BRIDGE.DLL error. If it comes back someone in my immediate family is a goner.

Re: What is BRIDGE.DLL

Ok, my problem is a little different. I had the coolweb hijacker on my system a while back and thought I got it wiped out, but this was there then too, so I'm not sure if it's related.

I've got an entry in add/remove programs called "bridge" that won't remove. It's always there. Everything's been acting normal since I got rid of coolweb/bargain buddy, except that when I start up it will say "no internet connection found. work offline/try again?" Usually I click try again, the processor goes for a few seconds, then stops. This time I clicked try again, and walked away to do something. When I came back a casino (Golden Palace I think) app had been installed on my machine and I had a low on disk space warning. I closed it out and uninstalled it. But there was still "Jftjpkmg" running in the task manager. So I killed it. Is all this related to the bridge app? Here's my hijack this log.

Re: What is BRIDGE.DLL

First put hijackthis in its own folder on you hdd ,not on the desktop, something like c:\HJ\hijackthis.exe for backup's .

then make sure you have all window explorer and Internet Explorer windows closed and run

hijack and mark an X and fix the following .

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {9C691A33-7DDA-4C2F-BE4C-C176083F35CF} - C:\WINDOWS\DOWNLOADED

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [systray] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\A.EXE

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RunDLL] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\DOWNLOADED PROGRAM FILES\BRIDGE.DLL"

,Load

THE 08'S CAN BE FIXED IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM IN YOUR RIGHT CLICK LIST

ok now reboot computer into Safe mode [hitting f8 on bootup]and delete the following file if

found ,hijack may have already deleted them ,

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ A.EXE --- file only

Also you may need to show hidden files to delete above files .
How to show hidden files .

Re: What is BRIDGE.DLL

Please Download CWShredder from HERE and run the Program. Press the "Fix Button" Let it fix all variants. Next, Close the program and all windows and IE windows and run hijackthis and Post a Fresh log.

Important: Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.
Unzip HijackThis into this folder. When you run HijackThis from this folder and have it "Fixed checked" it will create a backup file of modifications to use if restore is necessary. Please delete the old copy so it can't be used.

After that do this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.
