Re: looking for C++ London 3D Game Porgrammers - Growing proffessional startup company

Hi there,

I am a C++ developer with experiance in Games, AI, and augmented reality for television. I noticed that you are a fairly new company looking for staff in London. I am presently looking for work but more on a part time basis as I am starting a part time PhD in computational neuroscience this september and would like some interesting work to help fund and accompany my studies. I was wondering if you have any suitable roles for me. I have cut and pasted some extracts from my CV for your consideration:

Employment
---------------
April 2003 – present day
Gameware Development, Cambridge.
I work in a team of 4 as a key designer and implementer of a virtual creature construction kit, and contest simulator. The software was written in C++ on a Windows platform. The simulation is the central theme of the BBC television program Bamzooki, now in its third series. The TV show features teams of contestants using the software to build physically articulated virtual creatures that compete against each other. The engine is an agent based engine incorporating virtual machines to control the behaviour of each entity in the simulated world, combined with physical and visual representations for the entities. The engine is networked, with a server broadcasting the visual contents of the virtual environment to client machines each of which integrate on site with the BBC virtual studio camera technology to provide real time composites of real and virtual camera images, giving the illusion of virtual creatures existing in the real world. The creature builder is available for free download from: http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/games/bamzooki/.

January 1999 – March 2003
Cyberlife Technology Ltd, Cambridge.
Cyberlife produces software that draws upon artificial life research and techniques. The applications are predominantly Windows based and written in C++ by teams of up to 15 people. My responsibilities at Cyberlife have included:

• Design and implementation of the neural architecture used for the creatures’ brains in Creatures 3 and Docking Station. The brain model was a reinforcement learning and action selection mechanism that used the creatures’ biochemical state and sensory information from the creatures’ environment in order to learn and generate appropriate behaviour for interacting with the environment. Free downloads available from: http://www.gamewaredevelopment.co.uk...oads_index.php
• Programmer on the core game engine used by several published games; Creatures 3, Creatures Adventures, Creatures Playground, Sea Monkeys and Docking Station. All these games were based in environments with large amounts of interacting agents.

Education
------------
University of Sussex.
MSc Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems (distinction)

Queen Mary and Westfield. University of London.
MSc Artificial Intelligence

Middlesex University.
MA Modern European Philosophy (merit)

Middlesex University.
MA Modern European Philosophy

thanks for your time
David
