Verizon denial of service through router

I have been receiving denial of service every time i try to connect to the internet through my router which was a NETGEAR MR814 v3,using the wired ports. So i went and bought a new router a NETGEAR WGR614 v9, but still the problem occurs. Please help because i can connect to the internet through my Westell 6100 modem.

I assume you used the cdrom that came with the router to set it up 1 did you contact Verizon or Netgear for help with it

i have contacted verizon about the problem and go no where because he simply abandoned me after telling me how to setup a modem. I used the install disc to setup the router and had done several resets on the old one.

assuming you are using IE 6 or 7 ,did you try www.firefox.com browser ,also it maybe a netgear compatibility issue ,you should have tried a different brand for the new one .

try pinging version .go to start /run ,type in CMD ,in the prompt type in this with out the quotations ,
"ping www.verizon.net" hit enter ,note there is a space between ping and the www.
see if it connects and there is no time out
