Dating is a very-very competitive market!!! You are competing with giants like Match.com [owned by IAC which also own Hotels.com , HSN and other biggies].

Your site happens to be a nich Indian Dating site... this means that you are competing with Indiatimes Dating, which happen to have brands like Times of India to use as Maarketing Vehicles, you have some Real SERIOUS Competition.

Anyway, most dating sites have this serious problem: People will not signup until they have other people to date with. So, your first step should be like getting some people you know to create some profiles at your site to give an impression of activity!!!

Second, consider starting an affiliate program. it doesn't always have to be cash... it can be like giving special features to other members who already have registered with you.

Third: Your site is not SEOed... Do that! Also, Consider using PPC Search Engines for getting some initial traffic.

Fourth: Use your creativity to do something which no other site is doing and then use viral campaigns to promote it.

I would recommend looking for some web marketing sites online like webtraffic.com and buy some impressions, ummmm, lets see, best for you to do would be for targeted traffic (Dating cateogry)

Umm, Right -
I dont think that the geekziod sterotype of Large glasses, small frame, and pimples applies to me, and I do have a life outside of this office - one that I enjoy :D. And I'm sure that this applies to many other webmasters!

I would recommend advertising with Google AdWords or other advertising systems like AdWords.

You could also have one of your users submit a review to a site like [url]http://onlinedating.civicvoice.com[url] where you could get a link to your site.

With Google AdWords you can have location specific advertising, and target your ads to specific keywords. Give it a try.

I agree with the other postings that the geeks like me are not the right customers for your site.
