"Cannot find server or DNS Error"
 

I am using the latest Internet Explorer (6) on Windows XP. About couple days ago, I was using Internet Explorer with a breeze, but now any website or url sites i type it won't apperar. It takes me straight to the Cannot find Server screen. And at the bottom it says "cannot find server or DNS Error." I would deeply appreciate it if you could help me resolve this problem. Thanks!

Generally we require all members to start their own thread regarding hijackthis logs :). But, seeing how this thread is dead.............

Run Hijackthis and go to the process viewer by going to Config, Misc Tools, Process Viewer, to unload all instances of the following running processes;
msupd5.exe

Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32 and delete the file manually.

Scan with hijackthis and tick the boxes next to all the following entries, then close all browser and explorer windows, and hit the "Fix checked" button.

Reboot into safe mode following the instructions here and navigate to and delete the following if found:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\kgcknxti.exe<----file

c:\progra~1\iesearchbar<----folder

Reboot normally after doing the above, rescan with hijackthis, then post that log here please.
