| Another case of the background changing virus Ok so i recently recieved what i believe is called something along the lines of the "Antivirus XP Virus" Where your background and screensaver both get changed, and you lose the ability to change them back. Ive done some research around here and apparently the fix involves these two programs "MBA-M" as well as "HijackThis" I'd really appreciate any help I can recieve with removing this annoying little virus. I have run MBA-M and here is the log for that... | Re: Another case of the background changing virus Hi, yes you have posted the correct logs. As said by you, you had an Antivirus XP infection. Also, a fragment of the infection is still left present in your system. This is leading me to think that you may have a rootkit in your system. Hi, please download F-Secure Blacklight to your system and save it in your C:\ drive.

| Re: Another case of the background changing virus Ok, there seems to be no rootkit in your system. Please run MBAM and post back the results. I don't think the infection has been removed completely, therefore, it is not safe until you are completely disinfected. |
