MS Office 2000

I typed in some text and would like to draw a box around it to fit the text. How do I accomplish this? I've gone into MS Help and tried just about everything, but cannot seem to figure it out. I tried the rectangular box but cannot resize it to fit the text. Thanks for help.

hi,i don't know the program that well but i typed the text,went to tables and drew a box around the text and the text popped out, so i highlighted the text and cut and pasted back into the box .
