Get E220 HDSPA Working in Ubuntu

Hi All,
Greetings!
I would like to hear from you on how to make it happen. I have E220 HDSPA Modem, but I cannot make it work in Ubuntu. The device isn't even get detected. I have tried and fiddled but no success. Can one provide anything to help?
