Video thumbnails gone....
 

So the thumbnails for all my videos ie. AVI WMV and MPEG are gone! I did try the "regsvr32 shmedia.dll" trick and it's worked in the past, but now nothing seems to be working. Do I have to go into my registry? Or is there another way I can fix this? Running Windows XP MCE SP3

I've had this problem before. In my case it was a codec problem. Which video/audio codec do you use? I'd suggest klite mega codec pack.
Its mostly a codec related issue. Check if you installed some new codecs/changed some options/settings that disabled thumbnails for specific video types

I use combined community codec, I use to use Klite but it just became too technical for me CCCodec was really simple.

The first and most easy thing you can do is to reinstall the program...

it's not the program that caused it all. I installed it to maybe fix the problem. Is there anything I can do?
