| Which DNS for a home web server? Hi guys, I would like to use a web server for my web sites. I configured Windows Server 2003 with "host header" in order to work with a unic public IP address. Now I would like to buy a domain for my sites and let them reachable from internet. Do I have to configure my server also as a DNS server? Registering a second level domain on www.aruba.it leads me to choose between three options and the simplest one is the domain registration + DNS handling. If I configure my own DNS server on my server can I get rid of the aruba DNS handling? Can I buy only the domain registration? Thanks in advance! Max |

| Re: Which DNS for a home web server? Max, in the context of what you are doing, managing your own DNS server is an un-necessary overhead. I'd recommend that you use the DNS service provided by the service provider as this is the simplest way to achieve what you want. Maurice |
