hi i am haveing a problem with my Internet explorer. When i connecttto the internet. the internet explorer. opens and says finding yahoo but it don't open i have to push the reset and when it starts up again then i could open the internet explorer. to my home page.can some body tell me what happenning. thank you

Please Download hijackthis from

http://tomcoyote.org/hjt

Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

After the scan has finished the "scan" button will turn into a "save log" button

save the log file and paste it here

Do not delete anything yet, as most things hijackthis finds are harmless and needed.

A little more specifics on the actual problem as well. You say you reset it? By "it" I take it you mean you computer? Why do you have to reset it? Does the initial Launch of Internet Exlporer lock you system up when it is trying to find Yahoo?

Have you considered ZoneAlarm? It is noted for having corrupted Winsock and TCP/IP drivers. Try reinstalling TCP/IP, and see if that fixes things. IF not, remove Zonealarm and try it again.

Just my suggestions from my experience.

And does the yahoo page come up as not being found or lock things up?

hi yes it was frezzing up when finding yahoo.com. But i took out zone alarm and reinstalled it agian and it working fine now so far thanks to you . keep up the good work . I don't know whati would have done if you didn't reply to my post. thank you again. bye bye peggy

Wow. It's hard to say where to begin! You have so much bloatware and unneeded software, it's surprising that you have enough resources left to run the computer, let alone IE. Resources are precious with Win9x. Let's start with the most obvious.

* OSA & FindFast -- MS Office, unneeded.
* LoadQM -- MSN Messenger, unneeded, resource hog: http://www.answersthatwork.com/Taskl...tasklist_l.htm
* TaskMon.exe -- Worthless MS "disk optimizer". Unneeded.
* PCHSchd.exe -- Change how often it runs: http://www.answersthatwork.com/Taskl...tasklist_p.htm
* PTUDFAPP.EXE -- Prassi abCD packet-writing application. Old, semi-obsolete, probably not needed. Used mostly by Click 'n' Burn.

It's not clear from your post, but you may be running multiple instances of both virus software (Panda and Norton) and firewall (ZoneAlarm and Norton).

You have way too many browser helper objects (BHOs). Incredimail is adware, and not worth the benefit. Real is not needed.

Upgrade to IE 6 pronto. It's more secure and stable.

Run Spybot Search & Destroy to get rid of as much spyware/adware as possible. It also looks like you are running KaZaa or something similar. This is dangerous.

All-in-all, you have too much stuff running. Win 9x, especially Win Me is notoriously unstable. You run out of resources, things crash -- you are out of resources with all the stuff that you are running even before you run IE.

As TallCool1 says, you should not have two anti-virus programs running.....they will conflict and neither will work correctly.

Close all browser windows - run hijackthis and tick to fix :-
