| Severe hijack & Trojan virus hi, my other windows xp is really screwed, i scanned it with kaspersky, spyware doctor, ad-aware and lots more, it came up with alot of spyware, when i try to do a full system scan with norton, it won't work. I press "Full System Scan", then "scan now" it loads, but nothing comes up, and my computers really slow now, like somethings using up 100% of the cpu's resources, but when i press ctrl+alt+dlt, its on low cpu using :( And theres a note that comes up every few minutes on the bottom right hand corner of my desktop, it says im being attacked by a stealth.hjack virus and my computer might not boot next time i start it up, but it does go...(sometimes it doesn't, it goes up to the account choosing part, when i hold my mouse over an account, the mouse pointer doesn't turn into the hand thing and there isnt a yellow border around the account's picture, it just stays white)when i try to open search, my whole computer goes blank, then my desktop with nothing but my desktop wallpaper on it, no start tab, (same in safe mode) heres my other computer's HJT log: Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 3:59:59 PM, on 4/25/2005 Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe D:\kavmm.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE D:\HijackThis.exe R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.newgenlook.info/ad/ad0271/ O2 - BHO: AcroIEHlprObj Class - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\Reader\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.ocx O2 - BHO: PCTools Site Guard - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - D:\SPYWAR~1\tools\iesdsg.dll O2 - BHO: Web assistant - {9ECB9560-04F9-4bbc-943D-298DDF1699E1} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\AdBlocking\NISShExt.dll O2 - BHO: Google Toolbar Helper - {AA58ED58-01DD-4d91-8333-CF10577473F7} - c:\program files\google\googletoolbar2.dll O2 - BHO: PCTools Browser Monitor - {B56A7D7D-6927-48C8-A975-17DF180C71AC} - D:\SPYWAR~1\tools\iesdpb.dll O2 - BHO: NAV Helper - {BDF3E430-B101-42AD-A544-FADC6B084872} - C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security Professional\Norton AntiVirus\NavShExt.dll O3 - Toolbar: Web assistant - {0B53EAC3-8D69-4b9e-9B19-A37C9A5676A7} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\AdBlocking\NISShExt.dll O3 - Toolbar: Norton AntiVirus - {42CDD1BF-3FFB-4238-8AD1-7859DF00B1D6} - C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security Professional\Norton AntiVirus\NavShExt.dll O3 - Toolbar: &Radio - {8E718888-423F-11D2-876E-00A0C9082467} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\msdxm.ocx O3 - Toolbar: &Google - {2318C2B1-4965-11d4-9B18-009027A5CD4F} - c:\program files\google\googletoolbar2.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IMJPMIG8.1] "C:\WINDOWS\IME\imjp8_1\IMJPMIG.EXE" /Spoil /RemAdvDef /Migration32 O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MSPY2002] C:\WINDOWS\System32\IME\PINTLGNT\ImScInst.exe /SYNC O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PHIME2002ASync] C:\WINDOWS\System32\IME\TINTLGNT\TINTSETP.EXE /SYNC O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PHIME2002A] C:\WINDOWS\System32\IME\TINTLGNT\TINTSETP.EXE /IMEName O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ccApp] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [URLLSTCK.exe] C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security Professional\UrlLstCk.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Advanced Tools Check] C:\PROGRA~1\NORTON~1\NORTON~1\AdvTools\ADVCHK.EXE O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KAV50] "D:\kav.exe" -run -n PersonalPro -v 5.0.0.0 O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CTFMON.EXE] C:\WINDOWS\System32\ctfmon.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Symantec NetDriver Monitor] C:\PROGRA~1\SYMNET~1\SNDMon.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [msnmsgr] "C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe" /background O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WindowsFY] c:\wp.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Spyware Doctor] "D:\Spyware Doctor\swdoctor.exe" /Q O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SpySweeper] "C:\Program Files\Webroot\Spy Sweeper\SpySweeper.exe" /0 O4 - Global Startup: MyWebSearch Email Plugin.lnk = C:\RECYCLER\NPROTECT\00016804.exe O4 - Global Startup: WinZip Quick Pick.lnk = C:\Program Files\WinZip\WZQKPICK.EXE O4 - Global Startup: Wireless Configuration Utility HW.00.lnk = ? | Re: Severe hijack & Trojan virus In post #4 you said "when i open internet explorer", that's the reason crunchie suggested the fix in post #5. I don't know what to tell you about the Mozilla plugin. There shouldn't be much more for you to fix, but we won't know till you post another log :) |

| Re: Severe hijack & Trojan virus Trend Micro scan will not work with Mozilla as it uses active X controls. Internet Explorer must be used for the scan. Or, you can try this scan which uses Java. The scan here does not require an active X install, but uses java instead. http://fr.trendmicro-europe.com/cons...all_launch.php |
