error with WMP10

Hi! My brother just gave me his HP computer that he bought two to three years ago. I was trying to play a movie file but WMP always freezes and up comes this error: AppName: wmplayer.exe AppVer: 10.0.0.3646 ModName: iviaudio.ax
ModVer: 1.0.0.1 Offset: 0001121d.

any help will be greatly appreciated!
