another hacktool.rootkit problem!
 
I have had a hacktool rootkit infection. Have scanned with pandascan and bitdefender which has improved things. There are still a few nastys lurking though

Hi Zion1, welcome to DaniWeb :D

Download Ewido Security Suite from here:

Install and update it, and then close the program (don't scan yet).

Reboot into Safe Mode.

Run a full system scan with Ewido, allowing it to fix whatever it finds (note: you will be posting the log from this scan with your next reply).

Still in Safe Mode, Double-click on the Hijackthis.exe icon that is on your desktop; scan with HijackThis and have it fix the following entries:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - %windir%\bdoscandel.exe (file missing)
If the following IP addresses are not related to your ISP, have HJT fix this O17 entry as well --

Close any open windows, other then HijackThis, and click on Fix checked.

Go to C:\WINDOWS and delete netddf.exe

Empty your Recycle Bin and reboot normally.

Close any open browser windows, scan with Hijackthis, and post the new log along with the Ewido log.

I have followed your instructions ewido found nothing and i have run the hijack file as requested
By the way i have had a number of instances of w32.spybot.worm being
detected by norton antivirus in the last week, which it doesn't seem to be able to get rid of.
So how do i look now :?:

Thanks dlh6213, mostly things are working better. The one problem i have is while using internet explorer, i get an occassional "generic host procecess for w32" windows error message, when i try to close this the system freezes, if i try to crtl-alt -del i get multiple end program boxes comng up, if i can close everything often i cant disconnect from my isp
and sometimes have trouble closing down the computer.
I have downloaded a fix from microsoft for this problem(though i havent downloaded the update that can cause this). I have had one similar instance of explorer freezing since though the error message didnt come up yhis time. Thanks again

Sorry to have left you hanging for a few days, zion1.

As dlh6213 said earlier, your log is clean. Ad far as the random "generic host procecess" errors, open the Event Viewer utility in your Administrative Tools control panel and see if there are any more informative error/warning messages in your System and Application logs.
