| Re: Problem accessing various site Hi, Download CCleaner and install it. Download RBotGUI, a removal tool from Sophos. Make Windows to show all files:- Go to Start > My Computer. Go to Tools menu, click Folder Options (Folder Option will be in View Menu in Win98). Uncheck Hide protected operating system files. Then, click to select the option Show hidden files and folders. | Re: Problem accessing various site Thanks very much for your reply. I followed the instructions you provided but unfortunately I still have the problem. RbotGUI didn't find anything either and the Search did not find any file called 'win32x.exe'. Latest run report from Ewido was clear and shows nothing. | Re: Problem accessing various site Hi, I have now been able to access everything successfully through FireFox!! I am very grateful for your help in resolving my problem. Thanks again! PS. keep up the good work! |
| ||
| Re: Problem accessing various site Hi, Happy to hear that you can access the sites through FireFox. But, there is a possibility of some malware present in your PC. It's better to perform an online virus scan at TrendMicro HouseCall using FireFox. (If HouseCall asks for Java Runtime, you can download it here.) |
| ||
| Re: Problem accessing various site Hi, Thanks for the further advice. I ran TrendMicro HouseCall as suggested but it nothing found. I agree with you that I think l have some malware present as the problem still persists but I'm OK if I use FireFox as the same problem doesn't materialise. Its just annoying I'm unable to trace anything. |

| Re: Problem accessing various site Hi, Please download WinPFind and extract it to a folder. Next, run WinPFind.exe and click "Start Scan" to start the scanning. Post the log of WinPFind. Also, open Internet Explorer, go to Tools Menu > Internet Options. Here click "Advanced" tab, and uncheck the option "Enable third party browser extensions" and click "Apply" and "OK". Close IE. Then, reopen it and try accessing the sites, and post back whether you can view the sites or not. |

| Re: Problem accessing various site Hi, Thanks for the continued support and help. Below is copy of the log from WinPFind. WARNING: not all files found by this scanner are bad.
