Anyone know of a real time message board, or mIRC type thing for linux?

I am running RedHat Linux 7.2

nope...best one is irssi www.irssi.org

So is the thread date. If the person who just posted before you on this thread had bothered to look at the date, they might have thought twice about bumping a 4 year-old thread...

Yeah, personally i blame the "Similar Threads" at the bottom. There usually ancient.
