Start-up problem?

Well, this has been going on for quite a long time. I'm not even sure if it is a problem, doesn't seem to effect anything, but it's never bad to double-check.

Whenever I start up my computer, the screen would black out for a second and then come back to the regular screen. Does anyone have any ideas?

My Matrox dual monitor setup does this. It's fine.
