| Unknown,numerous viruses?HJLog included. hey everyone. :) it's been a long time since I've had to be here :evil: . and this time it isnt even for me. so please bare with me, and if i say something stupid, please excuse me. :o my friend's laptop has now been playing up for sometime, and apparently (he hasnt got a clue about computers), about a week ago it started going 'slow', and they've been getting "lots of popups". he also just told me that "it says its being controlled by a remote computer and the internet shuts down sometimes". so naturally i sent him spybot Search and Destroy, and that found nothing :eek: , and their virus protector is out of date. i've yelled at them to be smarter about their computer, and maybe they deserve not to have it fixed (lol), but my abilities only go so far..and so I cant really interpret what the pests are in the following hijack log! (And i dont really want to just delete anything, cos it's not my computer). so i'd appreciate if anyone could PLEASE tell me what to get rid of, and what else to do. i really appreciate this. thankyou!!! :cheesy: argh, and just to add, Norton apparently said they have "Trojan.Zlob". :cry: Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 9:15:40 PM, on 15/01/2006 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\cisvc.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\MDM.EXE C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\navapsvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvctrl.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\mssearchnet.exe C:\WINDOWS\ATK0100\Hcontrol.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\khooker.exe C:\WINDOWS\SOUNDMAN.EXE C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPLpr.exe C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe C:\Program Files\ASUS\ASUS Probe\AsusProb.exe C:\Program Files\ASUS\Power4 Gear\BatteryLife.exe C:\Program Files\Winamp\Winampa.exe C:\WINDOWS\AGRSMMSG.exe C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe C:\Program Files\Real\RealPlayer\RealPlay.exe C:\PROGRA~1\NORTON~1\navapw32.exe C:\Program Files\SpyAxe\spyaxe.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\iriver\iriver plus 2\iAgent2.exe C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape\Netscp.exe C:\Program Files\SpyAxe\spyaxe.exe C:\Program Files\ASUS\Asus ChkMail\ChkMail.exe C:\Program Files\ASUS\ASUS Hotkey\Hotkey.exe C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\bin\hpohmr08.exe C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\bin\hpotdd01.exe C:\WINDOWS\ATK0100\ATKOSD.exe C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\bin\hpoevm08.exe C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\Bin\hpoSTS08.exe C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\Bin\hpoSTS08.exe C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\cidaemon.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Security Center\SymWSC.exe C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\Temporary Directory 3 for hijackthis.zip\HijackThis.exe R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.utas.edu.au/students/index.html R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.aapt.com.au R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://www.utas.edu.au/students/index.html O2 - BHO: International - {e0103cd4-d1ce-411a-b75b-4fec072867f4} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\hpBB22.tmp O3 - Toolbar: ninemsn - {BDAD1DAD-C946-4A17-ADC1-64B5B4FF55D0} - C:\Program Files\MSN Apps\MSN Toolbar\01.02.4000.1001\en-au\msntb.dll (file missing) O3 - Toolbar: Norton AntiVirus - {42CDD1BF-3FFB-4238-8AD1-7859DF00B1D6} - C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\NavShExt.dll (file missing) O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Hcontrol] C:\WINDOWS\ATK0100\Hcontrol.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SiS KHooker] C:\WINDOWS\System32\khooker.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SoundMan] SOUNDMAN.EXE O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SynTPLpr] C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPLpr.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SynTPEnh] C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ASUS Probe] C:\Program Files\ASUS\ASUS Probe\AsusProb.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Power_Gear] C:\Program Files\ASUS\Power4 Gear\BatteryLife.exe 1 O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NeroCheck] C:\WINDOWS\system32\NeroCheck.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinampAgent] "C:\Program Files\Winamp\Winampa.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AGRSMMSG] AGRSMMSG.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft DirectX] rasmngr.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iTunesHelper] "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RealTray] C:\Program Files\Real\RealPlayer\RealPlay.exe SYSTEMBOOTHIDEPLAYER O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NAV Agent] C:\PROGRA~1\NORTON~1\navapw32.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SpyAxe] C:\Program Files\SpyAxe\spyaxe.exe /h O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SpywareStrike] C:\Program Files\SpywareStrike\SpywareStrike.exe /h O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SSC_UserPrompt] C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Security Center\UsrPrmpt.exe O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microsoft DirectX] rasmngr.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ctfmon.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Microsoft DirectX] rasmngr.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [iPlusAgent2] "C:\Program Files\iriver\iriver plus 2\iAgent2.exe" O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Mozilla Quick Launch] "C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape\Netscp.exe" -turbo O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WormsArmageddon.exe] C:\games\WORMSA~1.EXE /r O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WormsWorldParty.exe] C:\games\WORMSW~1.EXE /r O4 - Global Startup: ASUS ChkMail.lnk = C:\Program Files\ASUS\Asus ChkMail\ChkMail.exe O4 - Global Startup: Hotkey.lnk = C:\Program Files\ASUS\ASUS Hotkey\Hotkey.exe O4 - Global Startup: hp psc 1000 series.lnk = ? | Re: Unknown,numerous viruses?HJLog included. Good to see ya sassy :D. == Please read these instructions carefully and print them out! Be sure to follow ALL instructions! Download smitRem.zip and save the file to your desktop. Can also be downloaded from here; http://www.downloads.subratam.org/smitRem.exe Right click on the file and extract it to it's own folder on the desktop. Place a shortcut to Panda ActiveScan on your desktop. Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here: http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ Please read Ewido Setup Instructions Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet. If you have not already installed Ad-Aware SE 1.06, follow these download and setup instructions, otherwise, check for updates: Ad-Aware SE Setup Don't run it yet! Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:
=================================================== O2 - BHO: International - {e0103cd4-d1ce-411a-b75b-4fec072867f4} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\hpBB22.tmp O3 - Toolbar: ninemsn - {BDAD1DAD-C946-4A17-ADC1-64B5B4FF55D0} - C:\Program Files\MSN Apps\MSN Toolbar\01.02.4000.1001\en-au\msntb.dll (file missing) O3 - Toolbar: Norton AntiVirus - {42CDD1BF-3FFB-4238-8AD1-7859DF00B1D6} - C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\NavShExt.dll (file missing) O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SpyAxe] C:\Program Files\SpyAxe\spyaxe.exe /h O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SpywareStrike] C:\Program Files\SpywareStrike\SpywareStrike.exe /h =================================================== Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen. Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish. The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply. Open Ad-aware and do a full scan. Remove all it finds. Run Ewido:
Next go to Control Panel click Display > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Website > Uncheck "Security Info" if present. Reboot back into Windows and click the Panda ActiveScan shortcut, then do a full system scan. Make sure the autoclean box is checked! Save the scan log and post it along with a new HijackThis Log, the contents of the smitfiles.txt log and the Ewido Log by using Add Reply. Let us know if any problems persist. |
