| Re: Need Help With Hacktool Rootkit Hi, Download WinSockXPFix. Do not use it now! Download Ewido and install it. Run it, in the main screen, click "Update" and click "Start Update". After the update process, exit from Ewido. Download CCleaner and install it. Do not run it now. You may print or save this Webpage to refer when you are not connected to Internet. Make Windows to show all files:- Go to Start > My Computer. Go to Tools menu, click Folder Options. Uncheck Hide protected operating system files. Then, click to select the option Show hidden files and folders. Click Apply and then click OK to exit. Reboot in Safe Mode:- Restart (or switch ON) the PC. Then, keep tapping the F8 Key. From the menu that will be displayed, out of which choose Safe Mode and press Enter. Uninstall this Software from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel:- New.Net or NewDotNet Need2Find Media Gateway Spyware Cleaner (This is a dubious software!) Go to Start > Run and type services.msc and press ENTER. Here, navigate to the service named SpywareCleanerService and right-click on it. Then click "Properties". Here, in the "Status" dialog box, select "Stop". Then, under "Startup type" dialog box, select "Disabled". Click "Apply" and then "OK". Run HijackThis and click Do only a System scan. Then put a check mark infront of below listed entries:- R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://g.msn.com//0seenus/saos01 R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing O2 - BHO: Need2Find Bar BHO - {4D1C4E81-A32A-416b-BCDB-33B3EF3617D3} - C:\Program Files\Need2Find\bar\1.bin\ND2FNBAR.DLL (file missing) O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Media Gateway] C:\Program Files\Media Gateway\MediaGateway.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [New.net Startup] rundll32 C:\PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~1.DLL,ClientStartup -s O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Spyware Cleaner] "C:\Program Files\Spyware Cleaner\SpywareCleaner.Exe" /boot O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://ka.bar.need2find.com/KA/menusearch.html?p=KA O10 - Hijacked Internet access by New.Net O10 - Hijacked Internet access by New.Net O10 - Hijacked Internet access by New.Net O10 - Hijacked Internet access by New.Net O10 - Hijacked Internet access by New.Net O16 - DPF: {15AD4789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://static.windupdates.com/cab/Ga...bridge-c17.cab O16 - DPF: {205FF73B-CA67-11D5-99DD-444553540006} (CInstall Class) - http://www.errorguard.com/installation/Install.cab O23 - Service: SpywareCleanerService - Secure Computer, LLC - C:\Program Files\Spyware Cleaner\SCService.exe Close all other open programs except Hijackthis and click the button Fix Checked in HijackThis. Exit from HijackThis. Delete these folders:- C:\Program Files\Spyware Cleaner C:\Program Files\Need2Find C:\Program Files\Media Gateway C:\PROGRAM FILES\NEWDOTNET Run CCleaner, click "Options" button and here go to "Advanced" tab and uncheck the option "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours". Click OK to exit from the Options. Finally click "Run Cleaner" and click "OK" to continue cleaning. Run Ewido, click on the "Scanner" button in the left menu, then click on the "Complete System Scan" button. If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. You can select "Clean" and check the boxes "Perform action with all infections" and "Create encrypted backup" before clicking on OK. Reboot to Normal Mode. Note:- After performing all these steps, if you are not able to connect to Internet, then run WinSockXPFix and click "Reg Backup" button. Once the Registry is backed up, click the "Fix" button. After this restart the PC and check the Internet connectivity. It should be all right. Perform an online virus scan at Kaspsersky Online Scanner (Click the "Kaspersky Online Scanner" button). Save the log it gives after the scan. Run HijackThis again, click Do a System scan and save log, and post the fresh log along with the Kaspersky log. |

| Re: Need Help With Hacktool Rootkit Hi, Followed instructions and heres the results. WARNING: not all files found by this scanner are bad. Consult with a knowledgable person before proceeding. If you see a message in the titlebar saying "Not responding..." you can ignore it. Windows somethimes displays this message due to the high volume of disk I/O. | Re: Need Help With Hacktool Rootkit Hi, Download KillBox, extract it to your desktop. Open Killbox.exe. First click on Tools > Delete Temp Files. A box will open with a list of all user profiles. Check the following boxes at a minimum for each profile by clicking on the drop down and checking the boxes that are enabled. Some will not apply and those boxes will not be available to check. Make sure you do this for all the profiles listed. Temporary Internet Files Temp Files XP Prefetch If you want to clean your cookies, history, and list of recent files run you may check those boxes as well. Then, Check on the Button titled "Delete Selected Temp Files". Exit by clicking the Button titled "Exit(Save Settings)". Once back into the main Killbox program. Check the following box:- Delete on Reboot Highlight all the entries in the quote box below and then Copy them. Quote:
At this point the "All Files" button should be enabled so you can click it. Click the "All Files" button. Then click the Red X button and for the confirmation message that will appear, you will need to click "Yes". A second message will ask to Reboot now? you will need to click "Yes" to allow the reboot. Note: Killbox will let you know if a file does not exist. If you have any issues with this method you can copy and paste the lines one at a time into the killbox top box. Then click the "Single File" button. Then click the Red X and for the confirmation message that will appear, you will need to click Yes. A second message will ask to Reboot now? you will need to click No until the last one at which time you click yes to allow the reboot.
